Meet Maria: From Solo Cleaner to Team Leader

Maria started on Tidy4Me two years ago. Today she manages a team of 5 and has tripled her income.

Stories like Maria’s are why we built Tidy4Me the way we did. This is her journey, in her own words.

Where It Started

Maria joined Tidy4Me while working two jobs and raising two kids. She had cleaning experience from years of hospitality work but had never worked independently. “I didn’t think I could run my own thing,” she told us. “I just wanted flexible hours and to stop splitting my time between two employers.”

She started small — two bookings a week, fitting them around her existing schedule.

The First Year

Within three months, she had gone full-time on Tidy4Me. The 85% payout was the deciding factor. “At my last job I was making less per hour and had no control over my schedule. Here, I set my own hours and keep most of what I earn.”

By the end of her first year, she was consistently booked five days a week and had a growing list of repeat customers who requested her specifically.

Building a Team

The turning point came when a regular customer referred her to two friends — more work than she could handle alone. Instead of turning it down, she brought on a cleaner she trusted from her neighbourhood.

“I taught her everything I knew. We split the jobs, I handled scheduling, and it just worked.”

Today Maria manages a team of five. She handles client communication, quality checks, and scheduling while her team does the physical work. Her income has tripled from her solo days.

What Made It Possible

Maria is clear about what enabled her growth: predictable income and fair pay from day one.

“If I was only keeping 60% of each booking, I couldn’t have saved enough to invest in equipment, or taken the risk of turning down other work to grow this. The math has to make sense.”

Her Advice for New Cleaners

“Treat every job like it’s an interview for the next five. Your reputation is everything in this business. Be consistent, communicate, and don’t cut corners — customers notice.”

We’re proud to have Maria in the Tidy4Me community. Her story is exactly the kind of outcome we built this platform for.
